The Mayor of Florina, Mr. Vassilis Giannakis, met with the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Mr. Christos Triandopoulos, on Friday, April 19, at the Florina City Hall.

Mr. Giannakis initially informed Mr. Triandopoulos about the ongoing actions and planning of the Municipal Authority for the current term, which aims to implement important infrastructure projects and improve the everyday life of citizens.

The discussion that followed revolved around the necessary funding, both for preparation and prevention, as well as for dealing with problems from natural disasters.

The Deputy Minister was accompanied by the Member of Parliament of Florina, Mr. Stavros Papasotiriou, and the Secretary General of Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid, Mr. Petros Kambouris.

The next day, in Prespa, the conference on “Climate Crisis, Natural Disasters and State Aid” was held, in which the Mayor of Florina, Mr. Vassilis Giannakis, participated.

The results of the meetings resulted in funding of 1 million euros for the restoration of natural disasters in the Municipality of Florina. Mr. Giannakis thanked for this development Mr. Deputy Minister Mr. Triandopoulos, as well as the Member of Parliament of Florina Mr. Papasotiriou “for their immediate response to the needs of our Municipality”.
