Consumers have the opportunity to make their purchases more economically until May 4, 2024, with the “Basket of the Godfathers” in toy stores.
The measure is applied for the second consecutive year in the market, in order to facilitate the shopping of consumers and especially of godparents to their godparents during the Easter season.
Companies specializing in the sale of children’s toys, whose total annual turnover exceeds 1,000,000 euros per year, based on the financial statements of the immediately preceding management period. Optionally they can also participate and as many smaller businesses as possible.
Participating businesses are required to include at least one product from each product category included in the “Godfathers Basket”, if they have products of this category and to make them available at an affordable price, especially compared to the other products of the same category, by informing them consumers in terms of the composition of the “basket” they recommend.
The 12 categories
The Ministry of Development has formulated a total 12 product categories.
Specifically:
- Easter candles – toys
- Board / Puzzle
- Doll toys, dollhouses and other accessories (imitation toys)
- Baby toys
- Action figures
- Construction and building games (eg brick games)
- Vehicles – Remote Controlled
- Electronic games
- Sports toys (eg balls, children’s basketballs and goals)
- A soft toy
- Musical toys
- Chocolate eggs and similar products (optional)
It is also recalled that from Wednesday, April 24, 2024 until May 4, 2024 is starting to be implemented in supermarkets the “Easter Basket”, which operates in addition to the “Household Basket”, while the “Lent Basket” is also in effect until May 4.
