How do you imagine the ideal work environment? You probably think of futuristic Silicon Valley-like settings, ping pong tables and foosballs, or smiling workers typing in front of screens while sitting on pilates balls. However, a truly enjoyable and creative work environment that allows you to ‘flourish’ is much more than that.

A few years ago, the ideal employment in Greece entailed stability and a satisfactory salary, however, the millenials and gen zers succeeded, fortunately, in reshaping the “landscape” in the labor market. Now, concepts such as inclusion, respect and integration are characteristics that make a company sought after by future employees, and not without reason. Wondering who these businesses are? The Great Place to Work® certification, i.e. the special questionnaire addressed to the employees of a company and investigates whether its corporate culture satisfies and benefits them, gives the answer.

In fact, this particular questionnaire was completed for the third year by the employees of KAFEA TERRA, a model coffee processing and standardization industry in Greece, with recognized coffee brands such as illy, Dimello, Dimello Three Continents, AREA 51 and Distillo, a wide portfolio of products with high quality services . What was the result? To prove with their answers that this is a company that fulfills what it promises: To take care of the balance and well-being of its people, to provide them with incentives but also a modern, positive environment that cultivates the best possible version of them every day.

A “hug” from different people working together for the same purpose

There are many reasons why one should work at KAFEA TERRA and one of them is its state-of-the-art facilities in a Mediterranean environment, which maintains a rich biodiversity. Let’s not stop here, however, let’s take things from the beginning, as already since its foundation in 1988, KAFEA TERRA has a human-centered approach. It invests in people who have passion and love for good coffee, employees who contribute to the achievement of its goals.

You see the undivided dedication of its employees, who form a diverse core that “embraces” different genders and nationalities with love and respect, contribute to such a dynamic evolutionary path, in a Great Place to Work®. And precisely because it recognizes where it owes its success, it tries to offer new jobs and create long-term partnerships. It is no coincidence, after all, that 40% of its employees have completed more than 10 years in the company, while 26 of its employees have been employed there for more than 20 years.

The specific numbers confirm that this is a company that recognizes that it is a driving force for the development of its people. A company that supports, encourages and rewards its valuable companions on this creative “journey” in the world of coffee, a “journey” aimed at the personal and professional development of each employee.

What does this mean; It means that all employees enjoy privileges and opportunities, attend seminars, trainings, participate in exhibitions and conferences in Greece and abroad. It means that their promotion results from objective criteria, such as professionalism, responsibility, consistency, will and healthy professional relations with other colleagues.

A pleasant working environment that promises a better quality of life

According to the results of the survey, KAFEA TERRA is considered a Great Place to Work® for its employees, because it has created a pleasant and safe environment, a positive climate of cooperation and knowledge transfer, which inspires, empowers, contributes to the maximum for the improvement in the standard of living, but also in the well-being of employees.

In fact, this environment also includes an olive grove, a large vegetable garden, fruit trees, hens and roosters and other domestic animals, which allow employees to benefit from the beneficial properties that come from contact with nature.

Even if someone asked you to imagine and describe the ideal working environment, surely your imagination could not come close to the environment that KAFEA TERRA employees enjoy every day. And if there is something that the example of this company reveals, it is that companies that ensure that their people feel complete, are not only sought after in the labor market, but over time they achieve a leadership position in their industry.
