“The child does not turn back. We feel some vindication” said on Tuesday morning the cousin of police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis after the arrests of people for his murder outside the stadium in Rentis.

“These criminals wouldn’t just stay with my cousin, it would happen again and again. They should be punished to stop the violence in the stadiums” she added Katerina Lygeridou speaking to SKAI.

“Woe to us if we are afraid to go on the field or wear our team’s shirt. The police should not be in the stadiums because they are an entertainment venue. A mother or father should not be afraid to go to the field with their child. Stadiums are a place of entertainment and not a place where blood is shed and property is destroyed,” he added.

She repeated that those involved “should be punished in an exemplary manner” expressing her thumbs up to the police “for making arrests”.

“I’m touched. And the one who lost her child is a mother, and the other whose child is a murderer, I don’t know what to say” concluded the cousin of the deceased policeman Lyggeridis.
