“Greece cut in half will be a thing of the past with E-65”

--

The project has been undertaken by “Terna” and has a gap in the middle, zeroing out accidents from the opposite flow of traffic

Kalambaka and Meteora are “suburbs” of Athens with the new road being given to traffic tomorrow after the opening in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
THE Western Greece acquires a useful section of 136 kilometerswhich will be known as E65 through Google Map which until yesterday was unknown.
The travel for the individual and the professional becomes a comfortable one in 3 hours from Athens without stress based on the traffic since it has two lanes in each direction and ends with “LEA.”

The project has been undertaken by “Terna” and has a gap in the middle zeroing the accidents from the opposite traffic flow.
The driver who wants to visit Kalambaka, Meteora and Trikala will move to Lamia and at the Kalambaka junction will be included in the new part of the network that will ensure a comfortable and safe route for them towards Meteora which in less than two hours will appear on the right side of the road and will enchant travelers.

The work on the new highway will continue until Grevena to join Egnatia Odos.
The overall project will be completed at the end of 2026 and will be a response to travelers and a challenge for the Ionian Road, which will operate competitively as it will gather cars that will start from Igoumenitsa and later Ioannina.
So, the Rio Antirio Bridge will acquire a competitor whose attraction to drivers will also be judged by the level of tolls.
The new section will have a charge of 8.2 euros for the ascent to Kalambaka, as well as 8.2 euros for the descent to Athens.
E 65 will put in practice end to the well-known phrase heard for decades that Greece was “cut” in two.

The north will communicate with one more modern highway.
It has the twin tunnels that have been built to give a safe exit for cars as well as passengers.
The two tunnels communicate with each other and are able to release cars from one tunnel to the other.
The concession project has been given to “Back” until 2037.
The construction costs for the 182 kilometers amounted to 1.3 billion euros, of which 50% came from European Funds.
