Already, the regions have been mapped by the “strike teams” that have been plowing the regions since March, recording the pluses and minuses, the complaints, the dynamics of the opponents, but also possible solutions, informing Piraeus. And now the heavy artillery is in action, with MPs and party officials making visits, even two and three times, to minimize the risk of casualties and maximize the scenario of a better outcome than the 2019 European elections.
A… former green in Crete and Dendias Central Macedonia
The selection of the ministers who will… run in the regions was made exclusively by Kyriakos Mitsotakis, taking into account the characteristics of each minister and the particularities of each region. Who would be best suited to speak? in the once “green” Crete by the centrist Kyriakos Pierrakakis? Who keeps the treasury of the state and knows best how much funds and where they will be allocated to heal the wounds of Thessaly? Kostis Hatzidakis.
One of the most popular government ministers, Nikos Dendias was chosen for the difficult task of Central Macedonia, where it seems that New Democracy has many leaks to its right. His political profile also helps, as do his ministerial duties. Adonis Georgiadis will find himself in the difficult Western Macedonia, where de-lignification has caused job losses, as it was judged that he can “respond” to a Greek solution and also to Niki, who according to polls seem to be gaining ground. So is Makis Voridis, who has the Peloponnese Region in his portfolio. And there are difficulties there, but it is estimated that they will be overcome.
Eastern Macedonia and Thrace was taken over by Christos Staikouras, due to the infrastructures that are being implemented or are in the works, centered on the port of Alexandroupoli. In the Northern Aegean, Dimitris Kairides will be found, who knows immigration well, while in Epirus, Kostas Skrekas. In the region of Western Greece, Lefteris Avgenakis was appointed head of the echelon, while in Central Greece, Sofia Zacharaki. In the Ionian Islands, the Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, and in the South Aegean Region, Domna Michailidou.
