With the best omens, the curtain fell on the 3rd PANKRITE FORUM FOR THE PROMOTION OF CRETAN PRODUCTS IN HOTELS & DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS in Athens, as the business meetings that preceded it created the conditions for direct commercial agreements.

For two days, representatives of 13 hotel groups, representing 620 hotels, 25 Super Markets, 13 Distribution Networks, 7 Delicatessens and 5 Restaurants had the opportunity to talk directly with 120 producers of livestock and agricultural processed products from Crete and get to know the excellent quality goods produced all over the island.

During the pioneering and award-winning two-day event, approximately 17,500 B2B business meetings took place, in pre-arranged appointments for participants from both sides.

In this way, small and large producers from Crete were given the opportunity to present their products to prospective buyers, who would be difficult to approach in their own area, and correspondingly to the buyers to discover the nutritional treasures produced in Crete.

The 3rd PAGRITIO FORUM-ATHENS was organized by the four Chambers of Crete in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development & Food.

The aim of the organizers is to promote in new markets the excellent fresh and processed agricultural products produced in Crete, to highlight their excellent quality and to link the Cretan diet with well-being, rural development and tourism.

The 3rd PAGKRITIO FORUM-ATHENS had the support of the Region of Crete and the Central Union of Chambers of Greece (KEEE) as well as the practical support of the Panhellenic Federation of Hotel Managers. Important supporters of the event were Aegean Airlines and Minoan Lines, providing discounts for the transport of producers from Crete.

“We are sure that this year will also result in interesting deals, because the offered products won the interest of many buyers with their excellent specifications” said the President of the Chamber of Heraklion Mr. Manolis Alifierakis and invited small and large producers from Crete to take advantage of such opportunities pointing out that “the Chambers of Crete are paving the way and will continue to create conditions for better visibility and promotion of the products produced on the island.”

It should be noted that participation in the leading business event was FREE for all participants and the initiative is part of the effort of the Chambers of Crete to open new avenues for the promotion of Cretan products in new markets.
