To immediately pay the accrued wages from June 2022, to an hourly employee of the training programs of the KEK OAED (now DYPA) in Patras, who has also taken legal action against the Administration of the Organization, demands Association of Private Educational Officers (SIEL) of Achaia.

This is a problem faced by two more employees, from the execution of the pilot training programs for adults “SELLER/RETAILERS” REFLEX, which is a co-financed program, with DYPA as the lead partner and cooperating agencies INE/GSEE and the Ministry of Labor and in which, the Director of EPAS DYPA Patras urged teachers to participate, since they were already working as hourly workers.

As the union reports, calling for mobilization tomorrow Tuesday 9 am. outside the courts (while the employee’s lawsuit is being heard), despite repeated requests for the payment of wages, no response was given. On the contrary, the employee was also faced with retaliatory measures (reduction of hours, etc.), despite the fact that in the intervention of the trade union organization, a report was made by the Management, that the non-payment of the salary is unacceptable. Calling for a comprehensive explanation of what happened to the funding of the employment programs for hourly teachers, SIEL complains:

“The administration of the OAED (now DYPA) continues to show its antagonistic face, even applying the harshest practice of employers in the private sector, that of not paying accrued wages.

In full alignment with the policy of all governments of recent years, it reproduces for its employees, the unacceptable flexible labor relations of “one job”, hourly wages and fixed-term contracts, in all its educational structures (EPAL, IEK, KEK )”.

He notes that, like any employer, DYPA does not aim to protect work, calls on employees not to have any illusions about its role, stressing that in this way the effort to discredit the OAED is confirmed as a whole, in continuation of all the previous years, demanding, among other things, to answer what has become of the REFLEX financial programs, but also the abolition of all flexible working relationships with appointments of permanent teachers in the structures of DYPA and public education as a whole.
