The KNE student festival was successfully completed

“On Saturday, the journey of the KNE student festival in Chania with the slogan “We fight injustice, we build tomorrow, with the KKE we change the facts” was successfully completed.

At the beginning of the student festival, the winning student teams were awarded football tournament with the motto “go against the grain with your head up, think act live drug free” who participated the previous week getting medals and lifting the cup excitedly.

At the same time, there was space anti-fascist graffitibut also anti-war on the subject of “With Palestine on the right side of history for the right of struggling peoplesi”. There every student who grieves and wants to react for events in the Middle East could be expressed artistically on the occasion of Iran’s expected attack on Israel, in retaliation for the Israeli state’s criminal attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria, with dead Iranian officials.

Afterwards, the students were divided into groups and answered questions about the situation in their schools, the role of the European Union in education and in the lives of students, in the context of keynote speech with Phaedra Kyriazopoulou, member of the Crete Region Council of KNE. The speaker pointed out that “it is not possible for the students to like the school with so many shortages in teachers, books, modern laboratory infrastructure“, while generalizing the discussion, he pointed out that the “other things that concern the students, poverty, refugees, wars, “green crime”, repression and the anti-popular bills passed in the Parliament, such as the bill on private universities, highlight the reasons this system is rotten. An important part of the discussion was the upcoming elections in the European Union that concerns the students, which was emphasized that “even in the European Parliament, the parties vote for the same laws that do not promote the interests of the students of a popular family with a characteristic percentage of 70% of the votes, the ND-PASOK-SYRIZA-New Left parties are positioned with the same vote”. “Based on what made us angry today, what brought us down the street, what became slogans on our lips, what gave us optimism and strength we invite all students to vote competitively, to support the KKE with their vote on June 9» concluded the speaker. In addition, the results of the questionnaires completed by the students in Chania in the previous period were presented.

The program then included musical improvisation by amateur student groups with students recalling the fighting messages that great artists gave through their music and lyrics. Finally, the festival ended with the band “Alternating Voltage” to leave his mark with his special musical choices.

At the festival site there was an exhibition on the theme of “today’s new revolutionary”, a tavern and a bookshop of the Modern Age.”
