New reports by Thodoris Kolydas about the weather of the next few days

The director of EMY, Thodoris Kolidas, spoke about the weather of the next few days about Foen type winds in his new post.

Specifically in his post he states:

“Many times we have seen comparable or even greater differences of 16°C between Northwestern Greece and Southern Island areas, especially in cases where strong downward southerly winds prevail. Of course we are not referring to something “unprecedented”, such as e.g. for today’s 28 °C in Heraklion and 11 to 12 °C in the northwest.

Tomorrow Tuesday we may catch even higher prices (the 30s), but they won’t be many, as reported in the press. These prices will be limited mainly to Crete, or where they will play an important role again the locally enhanced Foen-type downslope winds»

Earlier in his previous post he had analyzed another parameter related to African dust, which will visit us strongly tomorrow.

Specifically in his post he explains:

“ARALI AS A SOURCE OF DUST – CAN THIS DUST COME TO OUR REGION?

The Aral Sea, or at least what is left of it, is located in central Asia, between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Her name means “the lake of islands” and it was given to her because of the more than 1500 small islands that were once scattered around her

Today, only fragments remain of what was once the fourth largest lake in the world. As the Aral Sea has turned into a desert known as Aralkum, soil from the dry lake bed has been added to the dust swirling over Central Asia.

Part of the dust may also reach our country. More in the following article»
