Another special accountability meeting of the municipal authority of Kostas Tzoumis was held on Monday, April 22 in the meeting room of the Board of Tripoli in OEBEA.

In this second meeting, issues related to the last two months will be raised, said the president Mr. Anastopoulos at the beginning of the meeting, stressing that from the next time there will be a filtering of the issues.

“There are specific procedures, you can bring whatever issues you want to a regular meeting” said the mayor K. Tzioumis, responding to Mr. Sotiris Papadimitriou who had requested with his request the discussion of the issue of the homeless and specifically what had happened in 2023.

The first topic was brought up for discussion by Mr. Gourgaris, head of the “Popular Mobilization” faction, and it had to do with flood control, water supply and irrigation in the municipality of Tripoli.

“This year everything shows that we are in a year without rains and the problem of lack of water is obvious. Lake Taka will not be able to ensure water for the crops, because it is at the lowest level. People will say the water – water. What What will the municipality do to deal with potential problems?

After listening to Mr. Gourgaris, Mr. Hatzopoulos, vice president of DEVAT, gave some answers regarding the water supply business. DEVAT’s tariffs are the same and there has been no increase. Afterwards, Mr. Hatzopoulos made a short report on the work that has been done recently in Tripoli and the villages of the municipality.

Mr. Angelakos then spoke about Lake Taka, asking if it belongs to the region or the municipality.

“I propose that a committee be set up by the Tripoli Board to pressure the district to complete the Taka Lake irrigation project”

The deputy mayor of the primary sector Mr. G. Hasapis spoke about the lack of irrigation water. The Taka Lake project is the district’s and the municipal authority has set as a primary objective the support of the primary sector and the municipal authority has pushed towards the completion of the project that will develop the primary sector and keep the new generation in our place”

Finally, Mr. Hasapis mentioned that he was disappointed by Mr. G. Stratakos, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food, where in his presence in Tripoli and at the “Peloponnisos EXPO” exhibition, he did not mention the project and its completion.

The positive thing is that after the report, Mr. Ptochos committed that the project will be auctioned in May.

The municipal councilor Mr. G. Katsiris spoke about the management of water resources. Water is not inexhaustible, he said, making a reference to the works that had been done when he himself was at the helm of Methydri.

In closing, Mr. Tzioumis said that the issue raised by Mr. Gourgaris was very important, but he should not have entered the specific meeting, since the Board of Directors is debating to make decisions and discuss municipal projects.

“The anti-flood projects belong to the district and the Ministry and not the municipality. We can push to protest, but the project is not the mayor’s responsibility.”

As mayor, I have gone to the relevant ministry many times and raised the issue. I have also visited Mr. Ptohos on the subject and have received assurances about his auction
