Thessaloniki: Health days in the Municipality of Pavlos Melas – Free exams for everyone

The ability to do free medical examinations all citizens will have within the framework of the institution “Health Days” organized by Vice Mayor of Social Solidarity and Health of the municipality of Pavlos Melas, from May 13 to 25.

“The goal of universal health coverage is a priority and Local Government can make a decisive contribution to its achievement. With the Health Days in the Municipality of Pavlos Melas, we give citizens and residents the opportunity for free measurements and checks. It is an important initiative that strengthens public health and the world has embraced it”, says Mayor Pavlou Mela, Dimitris Aslanidis.

The Deputy Mayor of Social Solidarity and Health, Sylvanas Karasavvidou emphasizes: “Health is a basic need of man, his inalienable right but also an obligation of the State. For this reason, we also proceed with the Health Days to ensure that anyone in need, as well as anyone who wishes, can have access to high-level health services, preventive examinations and check-ups, with the aim of ensuring good health. With a multitude of doctors of many specialties, everyone is given the opportunity to take care of their health for free and ensure a decent standard of living.”

Those interested can book their appointment from today, Monday, April 22. The tests, which will be performed by volunteer doctors, include: bone density measurement, dental check, dermatological check, spirometry, cardiovascular check, breast check, eye check, Pap test, thyroid check, hearing check, hematocrit measurement, nutritional assessment, neuropsychological tests dementia disease detection, physical therapy evaluation.

The examinations will be carried out free of charge by telephone appointment. First come first served.
