The goal for a “Climate Neutral, Resilient and Smart Central Macedonia” is the topic of the conference co-organized by the Central Macedonia Department of the TEE and the Region of Central Macedonia at the TEE/TKM Amphitheater (M. Alexandrou 49), on Wednesday, April 24, from 10:00 in the morning.

The goal of the conference is to play a key role in accelerating the actions planned to shield against the now visible effects of climate change but also to exploit new data and technologies both for safety and for improving the quality of life.

With very recent memories and many unhealed wounds from the floods in Thessaly and the fire on the Evros, with the Bill “Arrangements to deal with the multi-layered effects of climate change” in Parliament and the fire season having already started in some areas, it is the need to raise, discuss and promote proposals and solutions is obvious.

Moreover, the fact that Central Macedonia is a small Greece, a micrograph of the country from the man-made activities it hosts but also from its geomorphology and size, the topics and conclusions of the Conference will have a pan-Hellenic scope. The core of the effort was the conclusion of a Working Group of expert scientists set up by the TEE/TKM to draw up an Action Plan for a climate-neutral, resilient and smart Central Macedonia.

At the conference, the Minister of Energy and Environment, Mr. Theodoros Skylakakis, the Deputy Minister of the Interior – Macedonian Sector of Thrace, Mr. Stathis Konstantinidis, and the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Stelios Angeloudis, will address the conference.
