A model playground was inaugurated in Efkarpia (PHOTO)

Its inauguration took place in the presence of a large crowd model playground in the area of Anthokipon Efkarpianext to the 3rd primary school.

The new playground was inaugurated by Mayor Pavlou Melas, Dimitris Aslanidis.

“Every playground that is built or modernized gives joy to us adults as well. It gives joy to the neighborhood, to the families, to the residents because it gives life. Because children and their play are life”, said Mr. Aslanidis in his greeting, among other things.

Mayor Pavlou Mela called on the citizens to protect the new playground, noting: “As citizens, we should also take care of this beautiful playground. Let’s not allow its vandalism. Let’s not let anyone spoil this gem.”
In his greeting, the Deputy Mayor of Infrastructure & Sustainable Mobility, Charalambos Mageiropoulos, invited the citizens to love the playground, while at the same time he thanked those who contributed to its realization.

The engineer architect, Fotini Alexiou, who designed the playground, said her goal was to create a creative space with running and imagination. “I want to believe that I achieved my goal,” he emphasized, among other things.

The old playground was reshaped and rebuilt along with the sidewalks surrounding it. The renovated area exceeds 1,500 sq.m.

It has gaming instruments, manufactured according to European standards, with a certificate of conformity from an accredited certification body. It is designed to be accessible to people with disabilities.

The main game is a footbridge and a spiral slide. Among other things, it includes slides, a climbing unit, a climbing ramp, two trampolines, a “nest” swing, etc. The playground was enhanced with greenery, which upgraded the character of the project and the surrounding area. Adequate low-energy lighting was also installed.
