According to the Fire Department, the fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. in the Elitas area of Paros in a grassy area, near houses, while very strong winds are blowing in the area.
19 firefighters with 7 vehicles are working to extinguish it, while a helicopter is assisting from the air. In addition, 4 firefighters with 2 vehicles are traveling by ferry from Naxos. Also, volunteers and local water bodies are assisting at the scene.
Earlier, a 112 message was sent to the residents of the Pyrgaki area of Paroikias to evacuate to Paralia Paroikias, due to the fire that has broken out in a grassy area on the provincial road Paroikias-Naoussa.
