Under conditions of extreme secrecy, in a time and in a manner reminiscent of a police movie, the arrest of one of the leading members of a specific football club involved in the criminal organization that the Greek Police is rooting out took place in Ioannina.
According to confirmed information, the arrest was made on Sunday afternoon with the assistance of the Ioannina Security. The specific person who has previously concerned the authorities as well as the Directorate for Combating Sports Violence was immediately transferred to Athens.
The same information states that the arrested person was in Ioannina for a few days vacation, but there was a suspicion of his escape to Albania.
Authoritative sources emphasize that the relations of the organization itself and the close core of it with other people in the Ioannina area are being investigated.
Some of the incidents in which some of those arrested are allegedly involved relate to the incidents that took place at the beginning of December in the match between Volos and Olympiacos, those that took place during the recent match between Olympiacos and Aris as well as those that happened last December in Ioannina in the match between Olympiakos and the local team.
