A new two-day interactive hybrid seminar is coming to the JOIST Innovation Park, with the aim of conveying to stakeholders all the necessary cutting-edge knowledge of Artificial Intelligence in the healthcare industry. The interactive “workshop” will take place on Saturday 18 May and Sunday 17 May 2024, 10:00 – 16:00, at the JOIST Innovation Park. It is a two-day workshop, specially designed for students, IT workers and doctors, who want to understand and apply Artificial Intelligence to medical data.
The purpose of the seminar is to familiarize the participants with the Python programming language and the basic libraries used in data processing and analysis and to understand the basic Data Science and Machine Learning methods applied to medical data. During the 12 hours of training and with the guidance of the Assistant Professors of the Informatics Department of the Ionian University, Themistocles Exarchos and Aristides Vrachatis as well as the Researcher, Konstantinos Lazaros, examples of the application of techniques to medical data will be implemented. Additionally, abilities to solve real-world problems using clinical data, medical images and medical texts will be cultivated.

Participation in the Python course is possible both live and online. In live monitoring, participants are asked to bring a personal computer with them so that hands-on learning can take place with immediate technical support. In online participation, participants will be able to attend lectures and laboratory exercises without hands-on technical support.
Upon completion of the seminar, the trainees will have been equipped with new knowledge and skills, knowing the basic principles of Artificial Intelligence and the corresponding methodologies. They will be able to solve problems related to the application of Artificial Intelligence and design effective solutions for the development of intelligent and decision support systems in Python.
