The 8th Recycling Festival of the Municipality of Thessaloniki is coming

The 8th Recycling Festival of the Municipality of Thessaloniki opens its gates on Wednesday, April 24 at 9 am, at stand 16 of the International Exhibition of Thessaloniki.
It is an important institution of the Municipality of Thessaloniki with the aim of informing and raising awareness among the citizens and the educational community about the proper management of waste and the increase of recycling.
This year’s 8th event hosts more than 25 exhibitors, companies and Recycling Systems that will inform the public about recycling processes as well as 20 schools that exhibit creations made by students as part of the environmental education course.
The Festival is expected to welcome, as visitors, more than 2150 students from more than 40 schools in the city, who will be educated and entertained in 13 workshops of creative employment and Amusement Park Recycling, while attending theater performances and presentations.
The opening ceremony of the Festival will be held by the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Stelios Angeloudis, on Wednesday 24/4 at 17.30while there will be a presentation event of the European Climanet mission with the participation of representatives from the Municipalities of Athens, Ioannina, Kozani, Trikkaia, and Limassol, which have created the Network of climate neutral cities in Greece and Cyprus.
On Thursday 25/4 at 18.00, the Waste Management Plan of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the new Cleanliness Regulation will be presented in a dialogue event with the participation of city bodies and Recycling Systems.
On Friday 26/4 at 17.00, there will be an event presenting the policies of the Municipality of Thessaloniki for Sustainable nutrition and the Food Trail programs and the UNESCO Creative Network in nutrition policy with the participation of chef Vassilis Mouratidis, who will present zero waste cooking techniques.
All events will take place on the stage of Pavilion 16 of TIF.
