Greece and Spain are discussing the delivery of anti-aircraft systems to Kiev

The ND government is putting the country deeper and deeper into the imperialist confrontation USA – NATO – EU with the Russia in Ukraine, as it now openly discusses sending anti-aircraft systems to Kyiv, also responding to NATO decisions.

Today’s article in the American newspaper gives an indication of the ongoing discussions “Financial Times”which speaks of “pressures” received by Athena and the Barcelona from EU and NATO “to provide more air defense systems to Ukraine”.

According to the publication, some “EU leaders used last week’s Brussels summit to personally urge Spanish and Greek prime ministers Pedro Sanchez and Kyriakos Mitsotakis to donate some of their systems to Ukraine”. The rationale, according to the publication, was that the two countries, whose Armed Forces have Patriot and S-300 systems, do not have “as great a need as Ukraine and that they face no imminent threat”.

In fact, the article states that Kiev “He is particularly interested in Greece’s old S-300 systemswhich the Ukrainian forces already have in their arsenal and have experience”.

The same publication reports that less pressure is being applied to Poland and Romania, which also have “Patriot”, “given their most vulnerable position on the border with Ukraine”implying the risk of retaliation from Russia.

Ukraine currently has at least three Patriot systems, including one procured from the US and two from Germany, before Berlin’s announcement last week.

This issue, according to the FT, will concern the today’s meeting of the foreign and defense ministers of the 27 EU member states in Luxembourg.

The defense ministries of Greece and Spain refused to comment on the “Financial Times” report.
