New extensive police operation against her TV piracy took place in the previous days in Crete.

The operation, which was coordinated by the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate of Athens, resulted in the identification of many individuals who were involved in illegal TV piracy activities.

According to information, the authorities raided several homes and businesses in various areas of the island, locating and illegally confiscating digital media and other equipment used to receive and rebroadcast pirated television channels, as well as a digital subscriber list with names and addresses of individual end users.

This action led many ordinary users to throw the illegal boxes in the trash, fearing that arrests will followas was done in the previous weeks in investigations at the homes of end-users in Thessaloniki.

It is noted that, while we are already in the first half of 2024, they have been carried out five major police operations against television piracy, six arrests across the territory and at the same time dozens of cases have been tried, with many years in prison for those involved. Proceeds from illegal streaming are used for money laundering, buying and selling of movable and immovable property, virtual businesses and intense parallel criminality.
