“When we called Mrs. Maro Doukas to propose her to be on the European ballot of the New Left, her first reaction was that she does not have enough qualifications for such a position. Mrs. Douka, our honor,” wrote Efi Ahtsioglou, presenting the nomination of the great lady of letters.

Unwittingly, I guess, the failed SYRIZA presidential candidate and current NEAR MP described one of the biggest problems not only of the Left but of the entire political spectrum today.

Watch out: The great lady of letters, the great prose writer, the multi-award winning author whose books have been translated into half the languages of the world, 77-year-old Maro Douka, believes that she does not have the qualifications to be a candidate for the European Parliament.

On the other hand, the 39-year-old Efi Ahtsioglou, who at the age of just 30 became a director at the Ministry of Labour, at 31 the Minister of Labor, at 34 a State Member of Parliament, at 38 she was elected for the first time as a Member of Parliament with a cross and a month later declared herself a candidate for the presidency SYRIZA obviously considered that he has the qualifications not only to preside over the party but also to become the prime minister of the Greeks.

Unfortunately, this is politics today. See what is happening in all the parties. They are full of non-official professional politicians, children of the party tube and unscrupulous careerists surrounded by Autiades, Eleonores, Belerides.

Fortunately, the sizes of Maros Doukas, as well as Melpos Lekatsa who will be a candidate with SYRIZA, are so huge that the others cannot even touch them. They are two worlds unrelated to each other…
