Action of the “Little Volunteer” in the schools to strengthen the social structures of the municipality of Pavlos Melas

The Municipality of Pavlos Melas supports the action of the “Little Volunteer” which is implemented in the primary schools of the municipality of Pavlos Melas, in the Primary and Kindergartens of Stavroupoli – Polichni – Efkarpia with the aim of collecting products and medicines to strengthen the Social structures of the Municipality until and on Wednesday, April 24.

The Deputy Mayor of Social Solidarity and Health in collaboration with the Deputy Mayor of Education, the Volunteer Sector of the Municipality of Pavlos Melas and the Directorate of Primary Education of Western Thessaloniki, invite you to participate in the above special initiative that reflects the spirit of solidarity and care towards our fellow human beings.

The students of our municipality’s schools collect products (legumes, pasta, rice, long-life milk, juices, flour, sugar, spices, oils, sauces, cleaners, detergents, etc.) and medicines (painkillers, antipyretics, cold products, etc.). etc.), so that they become part of this initiative and discover the joy of giving, offering smiles to those who are most in need.

Specifically, they will strengthen:

➢the Social Grocery Store, which regularly serves once a month 142 families (330 people in total) by providing a parcel with food, cleaning products and basic necessities.

It also serves families with emergency parcels, the number of which depends on the needs that arise.

➢The Community Pharmacy, which serves 170 beneficiaries with the free distribution of medicines, primary care health materials & medical products.

➢The structure “The Kitchen of our Heart”– A soup kitchen that supplies 175 beneficiaries with freshly cooked food and salad every day from Monday to Friday. The preparation and distribution of the meals takes place in the structure, which is fully equipped and follows all hygiene and safety rules.

Beneficiaries of the Syssiti are also regularly supported with parcels from the Grocery Store.

With the action of the “Little Volunteer”, our children become active citizens and solidary members of society, learn the importance of contribution and develop the ability to positively change the world around them.
