Prosecutor’s investigation into statements made on the occasion of the Ares race

A prosecutorial investigation was triggered by statements made by the vice-president of PAE Olympiacos, Alexis Kougiasreferring to in the Aris-AEK match for the Super League playoffs, but also the response that followed from the PAE Aris.

By order of the head of the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance, Dimitris Smyrnisthe public prosecutor responsible for sports matters, Anastasios Kesisisordered a preliminary investigation to investigate what was reported by both sides.

In the context of the criminal investigation, it will be examined whether criminal acts related to illegal betting, violations of Sports Law and whatever else comes up. The investigation is expected to be carried out by the Directorate for Combating Violence in the Sports Venues of Thessaloniki and both sides will be invited to testify.
