Only a small part of the due honor that should be given to him by the local community and its bodies, was the event in the context of the opening of the exhibition about Vassilis Harisis, which is hosted at the Archaeological Museum of Ioannina.
The periodical exhibition entitled “Vassilis Harisis – (Re)shaping spaces of life and history”, is entirely dedicated to the architect Vasilis Harisis who stamped with his work and interventions the physiognomy of the city of Ioannina and the wider region in the post-war period and up to the present day, with his activity including studies of newly constructed buildings of a public nature (buildings: EHM, Tourist kiosk, etc.), studies of documentation – restoration of ancient and Byzantine monuments (ancient theater of Dodoni, Holy Monastery of Douroutis, Ioannina, etc. .) and studies of formation and regeneration of historical places (Dodoni, Souli etc.). However, his contribution to the establishment of a framework for the protection of traditional settlements and especially Zagori is considered to be of key importance, an issue that is at the center of current affairs after the inclusion of Zagori in the Unesco Cultural Heritage list.

At the event that took place on Sunday morning at the Archaeological Museum of Ioannina, where the exhibition is also hosted, members of the late architect’s family attended with his wife, Sofia, who spoke with emotion about the husband, father, grandfather, architect and writer , who always wanted to deal with the essence and not the surface of things.
