In Larissa for the “Learning City” executives of a Dutch organization

A group of representatives of the “Learn for Life” organization from the Netherlands visited Larissa from April 17 to 19. Larissa was chosen among four cities as a good practice “Learning City” with rich actions in the field of Lifelong Learning. The purpose of the visit was to provide information and a guided tour of the city’s educational and cultural sites, as well as the exchange of knowledge and experiences, regarding adult education, but also in general the promotion of lifelong learning.

The representatives of the “Learn for Life” organization visited the “Preventis” multi-purpose hall, where the deputy mayor of Education and Sports, Iraklis Gergiokas informed them about the actions of “Larissa – City that Learns”, while they were followed by suggestions from the president of the Municipal Youth Council, Alexandros Tsatsos, who mentioned the institution of the Municipal Youth Council, and Lina Mousioni, Pedagogical Manager of KDAP Larisa, who presented the Intergenerational Program Erasmus+ Bridges of Intergenerational Approach-BETA. This was followed by a tour of the site by Evelina Preventi and Vasiliki Akrivopoulou.

A visit was also made to the Life Workshop of the OKANA Prevention Center of Larisa, where the group was welcomed by Mr. Irini Koufakis, psychologist – scientific manager and Georgia Zavrakas, psychologist and presented the work of the Center and the Parent Schools program implemented in the framework of “Larissa-City that Learns”.

They also had the opportunity to be guided to the Flour and Grain Museum by Konstantina Kontsa, the museum manager, to the TIRITOMBA Puppet Theater and the Doll Museum by Fotini Kaloudi, manager of the Municipal Puppet Theater, to the Municipal Art Gallery by Konstantinos Douloudis and finally to the Folklore Museum Larissa by Fani Kalokairinou, director of the Museum.

There was also a visit to the Traffic Education Park, where they had the opportunity to see and be informed by the instructor Ilias Katostara about the programs implemented for younger children.
