Visit to the Athens Law School:

The students of the Humanities orientation of the 3rd and 2nd Lyceum, as well as those wishing to do so, of the 1st Lyceum, had the opportunity to visit one of the most sought-after schools of the 1st scientific field.

The Law School of Athens was founded on April 24, 1837 and was one of the first four schools of the University of Athens.

The students of the New School, arriving at 57 Solonos Street, encountered the building, in which several of the classrooms where the students are taught are located. The students who were there explained to us that the old and the new building of the School of Law are co-located in this particular area.

We then proceeded a little further down to 104 Solonos Street, for our scheduled appointment, at the Law School Library. The imposingness of the building impressed the children. The building of the Old Chemistry, designed by the architect Ermst Ziller, was founded in 1887 and inaugurated in 1890. Since 2016, the new Library of the School of Law has been located on this site, which is an evolution of the Law Tutorials – Studies. The tour by Mrs. Hudala and Katshea was very informative and helpful, especially for those directly interested.

We immediately headed towards Korai Street, to meet the PhD candidate in Criminal Law, Mr. Skoubou. Ms. Skoubou spoke to the children about the enormous value of the existence of legal science in our lives, as well as about the great and daily effort that high goals require!

It was a great experience for the kids! We thank everyone for their warm welcome and especially Mrs. Strakantouna Vassiliki, the Library’s operations manager.

Many thanks to philologist Marianna Borboli.
