Greece: ERT has taken initiatives to remove the misunderstanding in Eurovision! – Eurovision News | Music

--

THE ERTafter the reactions caused about the publication that wanted the committee to have pre-decided a low score for the participation of Cyprus to the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2024seems to proceed to de-escalation actions.

According to the column Typologies of the newspaper “Currently” ERT’s cooperation with RIK remains stable despite the turmoil caused around the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. As the publication comments, the two sides seem to “lost in translation” as we reached the point where the diplomatic authorities of the two countries are discussing a matter concerning Eurovision at the same time that the thermometer in the Middle East has hit red and the scenario of a 3rd World War was more visible than ever.

ERT in any case it is great support for Cyprus as through state agreements between the two countries, the transmission of RIK through a terrestrial bouquet as well as RIK Sat through the ERTflix platform is foreseen. In addition, the publication also mentions the contribution of ERT regarding the identification of its subject invasion and occupation of the northern part of the Republic of Cyprus by Turkey.

In general, it seems that ERT’s goal is to remove any misunderstandings and to have a strong presence at the Eurovision contest in May in Malmö, Sweden.

Of course, the above comes shortly after official EBU response regarding the document of the Ambassador of Cyprus in Athens, in which any attempt to manipulate the vote is condemned.
