The needs and problems he faces require immediate solutions so that dramatic issues do not arise in the operation of the eight structures under his responsibility

The Social Welfare Center of the Region of Crete has been without a President for about three weeks.

The needs and problems he faces require immediate solutions so that dramatic issues do not arise in the operation of the eight structures under his responsibility.

This is highlighted by the intervention of ND executive Nikos Antonakakis.

As he explains, in a difficult economic situation, the Social Welfare Center of the Region of Crete should not be left to its own devices and this procrastination should cause unimaginable and dramatic side effects that will be faced by people with special needs, infants and small children.

In his intervention he states, among other things:

Without a President, it remains the social welfare center of the Region of Crete which, as is known, consists of 8 welfare structures that accommodate vulnerable groups, disabled infants, the elderly, children in childcare and those with special needs.

I am sure that the 8 welfare institutions of Crete will not be left at the mercy of decay, mismanagement, and abandonment since no decisions are taken for their proper management, the daily monitoring of their proper operation and above all with the risk of the lack of benefits to the guests in these special welfare structures.

The Government, and especially the successful and sensitive Minister Sofia Zaharakis, must immediately proceed with the appointment of a new President who meets all those meritorious and scientific criteria, has experience in administration, so that the welfare institutions of Crete can continue unhindered their operation and to provide their services to our fellow human beings who need them so much especially in today’s difficult economic environment in which we live.
