The 31-year-old policeman passed away on December 27, after 20 days in hospital, after being seriously injured by a naval flare during incidents that took place outside the “Melina Merkouri” stadium in Rentis.

Dozens of arrests for the fan attack on Rentis

Since dawn, a major operation by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues has been underway to arrest people involved in the deadly attack with a naval flare against the 31-year-old MAT police officer on December 7, 2023 in Rentis, as well as in other fan incidents.

According to information from police sources, so far 57 people have been arrested, who are accused, among other things, of participation in a criminal organization, while at case file that has been formed includes more than 150 people.

At the same time, in the context of the business, a large number of investigations have been carried out in houses and vehicles, from where they have been confiscated various persuasions.
