“I’m afraid for the course of the Kalloni – Petra road” [Vid]

--

“Positive” is the word he used to describe the opposition that his faction is bringing to the Municipal Authority with the aim of supporting the implementation of important projects concerning the Municipality of West Lesvos.

The head of the faction “Creative Unity of Western Lesvos” and former Executive Secretary of PBA, Apostolos Alatzas granted an interview to “E” talking about issues that concern both the Municipality of Western Lesbos and the entire island.

Mr. Alatzas, with years of experience in self-government, returned to its first degree without failing to comment on both the result and what preceded the October election. Interpreting the percentage of 65% won by the Municipal Authority, he said that the citizens gave a “blank check” to the Mayor of Western Lesvos, Taxiarchis Verros, stressing however that this fact increases his obligations.

The most important problem that, as he points out, concerns the Municipality is the fact that the Municipal Units do not have the same multiplier in terms of their development and considering that possibly the former Municipality of Lesvos had to be split into 5 and not 2 municipalities. “This municipality cannot function developmentally to the extent we want” he said characteristically.

He also includes in the category of problems the fact that there is no targeted policy per deputy mayor, as he claims. “There must finally be a plan” states characteristics.

During the interview, issues such as the Antissa Nursing Home, DEVAL, Vastria, the Tsiknia Dam were discussed. Regarding the Kalloni – Petra road project, he did not hide his concern about the fact that this particular project might be lost.
