Impressive closing ceremony for the “Literary Journeys in History” program of the Ptolemaida Municipal Library

--

After a very important course with many bright stations, the annual reading program of the Ptolemaida Municipal Library entitled “Literary Paths in History” has reached its final destination.

That is why he celebrated it with an impressive Closing Ceremony on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Ptolemaida Music School Auditorium, which included the presentation of all the stages of a fruitful course, and especially the reading experiences gained by the students who took part.

The event was graced by the presence of the Mayor of Eordaia, Panagiotis Plakentas, who after initially welcoming the honorary guest authors Alexandra Mitsialis and Angeliki Darlasi who supported the program with their literature and presence, as well as the guests, children, parents and teachers, and especially the students from Kozani and Thessaloniki who came to enjoy the closing ceremony, did not fail to congratulate the staff of the Municipal Library, characterizing it as an organization alive with heart and lungs since its continuous activity produces important work.

Aikaterini Katsiu, the Deputy Mayor of Education and Management of the Eordaia Municipality, in her welcome, focused on the main goal of the program, which was the creation of a reader-friendly web from all over Greece and abroad, which was achieved with the great participation of many reading communities.

Alexandra Mitsiali underlined the eagerness of participation of the students who entered the reading process, creating reading pairs who read literature together, enriching their reading experiences. Angeliki Darlasi, in her turn, spoke about the value of the participation of so many children in the specific program, which laid the foundations for the continued formation of reading consciousness.

During the event, the works of all the reading communities were presented, the number of which exceeded all expectations, filling the map of Greece with readers who came from far away to show us the ways they used to bring to the present historical events the occupation, of civil war and dictatorship.

The stories within the story won over the little readers by making them, in another way, a part of them.
Souvenirs of participation of the schools and reading groups were awarded and the documentary, “the long walk of Alki”, dedicated to our great writer Alki Zei, was shown.
