3×3 PPC Street Basketball started this year’s journey from Lamia on the weekend of April 20-21.
It is an event which is based on the successful cooperation of PPC with the Hellenic Basketball Federation and offers a unique basketball experience with entertainment and sport.
The sport is constantly rising as can be seen from the response of the athletes, the associations, the wider sports public, as well as the rise of the country and our national teams in the FIBA ranking. This is also certified by the recent qualification of the U23 Women’s National Team to the 3×3 World Cup.
In Lamia, the games were hosted in Park Square with teams of all ages testing their abilities.
Among those who stepped on the floor of the square was the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras, who scored the first basket of the game. However, his team was defeated by the very strong team of the Municipality of Lamia in which the president of the Municipal Council Makis Prentzas and the Deputy Mayors Yiannis Koutkias and Thanos Stergiou participated.

All a great company, young and old in an exciting two days, in a basketball celebration in Lamia at the 3×3 PPC Street Basketball 2024 that exceeded all expectations. The Park square was transformed into an open-air basketball court, in an event where athletes of all ages participated, with “protagonists” the strong duels, the markings, the runs and above all the satisfaction of participating in the tournament.
On the evening of Sunday 21st April, the sets of matches were completed with the awards to the winning teams in a sporting event that was crowned with complete success, further spreading the popular sport to the new generations. The awards on behalf of the Municipality of Lamia were carried out by the Deputy Mayor Panagiotis Parcharidis and the Authorized Councilors Vassilis Karagiannidis and Yiannis Koutkias, while the Authorized Advisor of the Department of Events and Sports Programs Thanos Stergiou had an important contribution to the organization.
The Municipality of Lamia would like to thank the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the Hellenic Police, the Municipal Police, EKAB, the Regional Department of Lamia of the Hellenic Red Cross and all those who actively participated in the excellent organization for their assistance in the tournament.
