Recall programs for three vehicles were announced by the General Secretariat of Industry concerning its models Hondaher Mercedes Benz and Hyundai.

In particular, in the first case, the General Secretariat of Industry and specifically the Department of General Product Safety of the Directorate of Safety and Compliance of Industrial Products, announces that the manufacturing company HONDA MOTOR Co, LTD, (HMC) in cooperation with the national distributors and in particular the company Brothers Sarakaki A.E.V.M.E., Official Importer and distributor of HONDA vehicles in Greece, is running a program recall of Honda brand cars CR-V HYBRID (RT5 & RT6).

The said recall concerns 92 vehicles, in the production period from May 2019 until July 2022, which have been imported into Greece by the Official Importer.

In the affected vehicles, according to the manufacturer, Honda Motor has identified that in a certain number of vehicles, during a collision to the left front of the vehicle, the positive battery cable may become damaged, resulting in a risk of ignition. Therefore, it is considered appropriate and necessary to replace the positive cable of the battery, in the engine compartment.

So far, in Greece, no case of an accident has been reported, related to this specific issue.

The owners of the above vehicles will be informed personally and in writing, by letter, so that they can come, after a telephone appointment, to the nearest Partner of the Authorized Honda Car Repair Network in order, and without any financial burden, to carry out the necessary corrective actions.

For more information and/or clarifications, interested parties are requested to contact the Customer Service Center/Technical Department of the company Sarakaki Brothers A.E.V.M.E. on phone 210 3483795 with its Customer Service Department, and/or electronically at e-mail: [email protected].

The specified recall includes 146 vehicles, and concerns models of the GLE/GLS model year 2018 to 2022. In affected vehicles, the 48V ground point under the passenger seat may have become loose. Doing so would have the effect of increasing the electrical transient resistance at the connection point. Consequently, and because of this fact, the increased risk of any temperature increase at this point during the operation of the vehicles covered by the said recall campaign and, by extension, the risk of fire cannot be completely excluded.

So far, in Greece, no case of an accident has been reported, related to this specific issue.

The owners of the above vehicles will be informed in person and in writing by registered letter, to visit the nearest Partner of the Mercedes-Benz Authorized Repairer Network, in order, and without any financial burden, to have the bolted connection of the earthing point of the involved vehicles preventively checked and if it needs to be repaired.

The specific recall concerns 511 production vehicles from April 2023 to December 2023 that have been imported into Greece by the Official Importer. In the affected vehicles, according to the manufacturer, after a frontal impact – collision of the vehicle, a thermal phenomenon may occur in the engine compartment, as a result of a possible short circuit in the battery wiring due to its contact with the base of the ECM unit. Therefore, it is considered appropriate and necessary to add a protective cover to the battery wiring in the engine compartment.

So far, in Greece, no case of an accident has been reported, related to this specific issue.

The owners of the involved vehicles will be informed personally and in writing, by registered letter, so that they can come, after a telephone appointment, to the nearest Partner of the Hyundai Authorized Repairer Network throughout Greece, in order, and without any financial burden, to carry out/complete the procedure adding a protective battery wiring cover in the engine compartment.
