One of its best appearances of the season was made on Sunday night by Karditsa, who prevailed with the imposing 95-67 of Apollon Patras in “Yiannis Bourousis” for the 4th matchday of the Stoiximan Basket League playouts!

Nikos Papanikolopoulos’ team dominated from the very first quarter, building double-digit leads early on, even reaching at +39! Somehow, it rose to 9-17, while in the last game it hosts AEK, in an indifferent score match, since Karditsa has definitively lost the “train” of the playoffs since the last game.

The first scorer for the winners was Mac with 23 points and 6 rebounds, with Jankovic to follow with 22 points and 7 rebounds. For the already relegated Apollo, stood out the Osborne (21p., 8r.) and Brown (14p., 16r.).

The match:

“Space” start for her Carditsa in the match, with the team of Nikos Papanikolopoulos effectively “cleaning up” the victory and the pink match sheet from the very first 5 minutes of the match! And that’s because, the home team entered with tremendous energy in defense and attack, and with Mack in a tremendous executive night (11 points in that time), they led with incredible 20-0 in 5′! In the 6th minute, the first basket came for Apollo with Perkins stopping the “bleeding” for his team, with the Patrinos managing to reduce the score to 16 for 30-14 in the quarter.

Karditsa, for its part, did not take long to send the difference over 20 points again at the beginning of the second quarter, with Yankovic and Seibert leading offensively for 45-24 at 16′. In fact, then, the two three-pointers in a row by Seibert and McCollum, as well as the two-pointers by Buchanan and Mack, widened the gap at +29 (57-28)with both teams going to the locker room with the score at 59-31!

The facts of the match did not change in the second half, with Karditsa completely dominating the floor of “Yiannis Bourousis”, constantly increasing the value of the difference. With the duo of Mac and Jankovic to score in any way they wanted, the hosts could not find any meaningful response, closing the third quarter at +32 for 77-45!

Somehow, the fourth and final period became procedural, with the only interest being focused on the final stretch of the score. With Seibert stepping into the offensive equation and putting up points, the Cardinals went as far as the +39 (90-51) in the middle of the quarter, with Apollon in the final picking up a bit of the difference for the final 95-67.

The quarters: 30-14, 59-31, 77-45, 95-67.
