There have been developments in the last few hours in the case of the murder of police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis, in Rentis, with the authorities proceeding to arrest dozens of hooligans.

A major police operation has been underway for the last few hours regarding the case of Rentis and the murder of the police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis.

According to the first information, the authorities have moved up to moments in dozens of arrests and arrests, however there is no exact number at this time as the operation is ongoing. It is noted, however, that it follows arrest warrants that had been issued against several persons.

According to information, searches were conducted in the last few hours dozens of houses as well as spaces relating to persons involved in the fan movement.

Those arrested are expected to be brought before the prosecutor to be charged.

It is recalled that in the case file that had been filed for the case there were accusations of formation of a criminal organization.

The 31-year-old police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis passed away on December 27after a tough battle that he fought for 20 days, following his serious injury from a naval flare that he had received during incidents that took place outside the “Melina Merkouri” stadium in Rentis, during the “eternal” derby, Olympiacos – Panathinaikos.
