During the meeting of the Municipal Council of Western Lesvos, on Thursday, April 11, 2024, the non-agenda items “Giving an opinion on the tendering of seaside positions” were discussed. The proposal was made by the deputy mayor for Operational Planning of the Municipality of West Lesvos, Asanoula Kokkinelli Gianniwhich, after previously referring to the said legislative provisions, asked the body for its opinion on the auction.
According to the decision, these are six areas of the municipality whose use concerns the placement of Canteens or Umbrella Seating.
More specifically, these are:
1) Limanaki area, in Skala Eresos, area 15m2 for canteen use
2) 2nd Canteen area, in Skala Eresos, area 15m2 for canteen use
3) Afenteli area – 3rd Canteen, in Skala Eresou, area 15m2 for canteen use
4) Podaras area – position 2, in the Mesotopos area of 100 m2 for the use of Umbrella seats
5) Podaras area – position 2, in the Mesotopos area of 15 m2 for canteen use
6) Anaxos area in Skoutaros, area 227 m2 for use of umbrella seats
The decision was taken by majority vote. Of the 28 municipal councilors who were present at the meeting, 19 voted “for”, “against” 5 from the Alatza faction and “white” 4 from the Syka faction.
