As every year, this year too, the band of the Old Philharmonic gives
the musical kickoff of the philharmonic’s Easter concerts
associations of our city with his years-established concert
Saturday of Lazarus. The concert will take place at the Municipal Theater of Corfu and is once again characterized by the presentation of works being heard for the first time
time in Corfu.

The soloist of the evening will be the excellent pianist
Aphrodite Kogevina (who also has old family ties with
the Old Philharmonic) performing the first part from the famous
Tchaikovsky’s “Piano Concerto” transposed for band. I will

Valkyrie” from the opera “The Valkyrie” by Wagner. The concert will
concluded with another Corfu “first”, the one with a biblical theme
symphonic poem for brass band “Moses and Ramses” by the Japanese
composer Satoshi Yagisawa, offering yet another original work for
band. His works will also be performed in the established concert
chief musician of Palaia Petros Karavana and arrangements of his compositions
Beethoven, Herold and Khachaturian.

The concert will start at exactly 20:30 and will be free
entrance.
