The Secretary of the Decentralized Administration of Crete Maria Kozyraki the General Secretary of Public Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs visited on Friday. Dimitris Kirmikiroglouwhich is located in Heraklion.

During the meeting, the Secretary of the Decentralized Administration informed Mr. Kirmikiroglou about the implementation of public policies related to the Agency’s areas of competence in Crete, with reference to the administrative procedures carried out by the relevant organizational units, and how they are implemented ensuring the public interest and better service to citizens.

In the discussion, extensive reference was made to the reorganization of the structures and the upgrading of the role of the country’s decentralized administrations, as they have evolved over the last two years, mainly in the new public sector human resource evaluation system that has already begun to be implemented, applying goal-setting procedures and improving the skills of civil servants, for better management and organization of human resources with the aim of significantly improving the services provided to Organizations and citizens.

For his part, the General Secretary of Public Administration referred to the implementation of the National Action Plan for Innovation, the application of innovative methods and best practices as a key element of strategic planning and the exchange of know-how between public bodies and organizations, the achievement of process redesign through the use technologies such as artificial intelligence etc.

Mrs. Kozyraki thanked the General Secretary Dimitris Kirmikiroglou for the initiative of their interesting meeting and pointed out the importance and the decisive importance of the effort made by all involved bodies, the central and decentralized administration as well as the local government, for the successful implementation of the reform work in the public sector.
