The platform for the special provision of maternity protection for self-employed mothers remains open.

The freelancersself-employed women and farmers will receive, like wage earners, the special maternity benefit.

According to the relevant provision, the mother insured of the e-EFKAself-employed, self-employed or farmer, is entitled to a special maternity protection benefit of 9 months, which starts after the end of the e-EFKA maternity allowance, and specifically after 14 weeks from the day after giving birth.

It is pointed out that it has retroactive effect, as all mothers who had a child up to 14 weeks before the end of 2023 and in particular, from September 24, 2023 onwards, are also entitled to the special maternity protection benefit.

Maternity allowance for the self-employed: Applications have started

For 9 months from €830 / month

Total: €7,470 (Net: €706 * 9 months = €6,354)

It concerns: insured self-employed, self-employed and female farmers

Conditions:

– Insurance up-to-date -> no debts to EFKA

Retroactive effect: For mothers who have given birth or adopted since 9/24/2023

Payment: from the first of the month following the application
