This again with the “father religion family” that has overwhelmed us, is the most offensive and stupid thing that has happened to us lately. The revival of the April slogan (which comes from earlier depths of our post-conflict history) is 100% charged to Giorgos Autias. I don’t know with what mysterious path of his thought, he thought that a historically burdened (with wood and exiles) slogan of the period 1967-74 could bring him crosses in the Eurocalp today.

What the hell, wasn’t he afraid of being called a Junta? Unless he wasn’t aware that this slogan was written under every drawing of the April Fool’s bird and considered it just a traditionally right-wing buzzword that activates the conservative reflexes of the old men and grannies who are his prime target group. Absurd, because the young (who don’t vote for him) have no idea about the junta and wouldn’t pay attention, while the old (who vote for him) remember very well the dictator George Papadopoulos reciting it after every incoherent speech.

Normally ND should somehow bring George back to class and at least get him to disavow the essence of the slogan. They didn’t, apparently for fear of doing (the image of the NT) more harm than good. They probably thought “let’s go there hooded.” I suspect that there was an underground reprimand or warning because the candidate sometimes said it and sometimes forgot it. I don’t hear him repeating it in his speeches and TV appearances.

But the revival of the slogan also proved the incoherence of the ND opponent, Stefanos Kasselakis. At first he made a post on tik tok in which he explained that “so far the right-wing looting of the slogan motherland, religion, family”, since the leftists have always been patriots, family men and in favor of the free choice of faith. This he said, leaving those old leftists who still remain in Syriza speechless and desperate.

And then, suddenly Stefanos turned it around and when the journalists go to ask him about “patris, religion, family”, he angrily cuts them off and exclaims “you are asking me about the Hundred slogan, let’s not forget that”. The guy from Miami is going to drive us crazy. In other words, everyone will drive us crazy, some from here and some from there. O suffering homeland, O unfortunate Greek History…
