Kastoria’s performance in tourism in relation to Kozani, Florina and Grevena. In 2024, an increase in tourism is observed in Kastoria, Grevena and a large decrease in Kozani.
The figures of the annual turnover in the regions of Western Macedonia were processed by the MTC GROUP Tourism Consultants company based on the data published by ELSTAT.
According to them, the following revenues were recorded in the whole of the year 2023 in accommodation and catering businesses in the following Regional Units:
KASTORIAS in 424 companies 27,236,744 euros
KOZANIS in 1,103 businesses 76,831,435 euros
FLORINA in 499 businesses 23,076,204 euros
GREVENON in 345 companies 13,632,616 euros
In a breakdown by company, we find that Kozani ranks first with €69,656.78, followed by Kastoria with €64,237.60 and then Florina with €46,244.90 and Grevena with €39,514.48.
Regarding the movement of January and February 2024, the data show that Kozani is again ahead with 683,245 euros in January compared to 836,387 in the same month last year and in February with 697,022 euros compared to 910,212 in February 2023. Kastoria follows with 240,858 in January 2024 against 385,270 and with 247,882 in February against 240,858. In Grevena, collections were recorded at 72,677 in January against 65,380 and 64,357 in February against 62,110. (There is no data for Florina).
In the two months of January – February 2024 we observe a common course of increases between Kastoria and Grevena. Specifically, the increase in January in Kastoria was 11.9% and in Grevena 11.2%, while in February in Kastoria the increase was limited to 2.9% and in Grevena to 3.6%. Finally, the decrease in Kozani by 18.3% in January and 23.4% in February is noteworthy.
