On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, Armed Forces Day was celebrated throughout the country. As part of the celebration, the flag decoration of the Public-Regional and Municipal shops, as well as the N.P.D.D shops, as well as the ships chartered in the port from 8 am until sunset, took place in Syros.

Our Church celebrates the Entry of the Mother of God, the then three-year-old Mary in Solomon’s temple, fulfilling her old parents’ wish to God for the acquisition of a child, and the State celebrates its Armed Forces. Today is our holiday. Today with pride, respect and emotion we remember all those wonderful Greek men and women, known and unknown, from ancient times to today, who fought on the battlefields for the freedom of the Motherland” he said, among other things, in his speech. The “present” was given by: the outgoing Mayor of Syros Ermoupolis, Nikos Livadaras, the newly elected Mayor, Mr. Alexis Athanasiou, the regional councilor, Mr. Markos Dadaos Municipal Councilors, and of course the heads of the security forces and the armed forces of Syros.

Immediately after the end of the eulogy, wreaths were laid at the National Hero of the City (in front of the Holy Temple).
