Eordia: Primary School Students learn to swim | Daily update for Kozani since 2001 –

Three hundred and ninety-eight (398) students of the third (3rd) grade from 22 Primary Schools of Eordaia, attend swimming lessons at the Municipal Swimming Pool of Ptolemaida, based on the Analytical Study Program for the subject of swimming, as part of the Physical Education course.

The purpose of Swimming lessons is the acquisition of swimming education and proficiency, in terms of acquiring experiential knowledge of the basic rules of safety and hygiene, handling emergency situations around and in the aquatic environment, avoiding drowning, developing self-confidence in the water, practicing of basic swimming skills, in familiarizing children with the water element through play and entertainment, as well as in the development of cooperation, sociability, thus contributing to the completion of the students’ personality. The program is implemented by the Office of Physical Education of Primary Education of Kozani with the coordinator of Physical Education Professor Maria Ambatzidou.
