World champion Miltos Tedoglou, among others, spoke about the tragic situation in which the country’s sports facilities have been abandoned.
Specifically, speaking on the show “Now Together” OPEN, Miltos Tendoglou stated that the lockout at OAKA was expected and described the conditions under which he trains in Greece:
“The lockout at the stadium in OAKA was expected, because like all sports facilities in Greece… they are coming to an end. I’m not one of those people who complain in general, but I do it for the rest of the kids.
Me and my coach are going abroad, the differences are huge outside. Here, where we train indoors, it is a mess, the water drips, there is no heating, there are no cables.
We had Agios Kosmas and now they are closing it, there is also no electricity there… Olympic year in the meantime. If the situation continues like this, athletics will end in a few years in Greece, not to mention sports. In a few years he will have nothing.”
