Event for the purpose of paying tribute to the revolted students of the Polytechnic University organized by Police Association of Thessaloniki on Monday at 11:00 am, at the Amphitheater of the Thessaloniki Police Headquarters.

“The Polytechnic is written in the popular consciousness as a symbol of the unity of the whole people against the military dictatorship. A dictatorship that had trampled on individual liberties, dissolved political parties and exiled citizens based on their political beliefs,” they note in the statement.

“The event will not only be a recall of the memory of the events of that period, but also an occasion for discussion about what the Polytechnic means today”, they emphasize and add that “the Polytechnic will always remind us that Democracy is the best possible state but at the same time also the most sensitive, for this reason it constantly needs the activation of all of us to be protected”.

The following will make interventions at the event:

1. Dimitris Papachristos, journalist-author.
2. Anna Efthymiou, Member of Parliament for New Democracy.
3. Spyros Vougias, former Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection.
4. Dimitris Apostolou, President of the Thessaloniki Police Association.
