The Region of Crete, Autonomous Equality Office and the Regional Committee for Gender Equality of Crete (P.E.P.I.S.), in collaboration with the Directorate of Electronic Crime Prosecution of the Hellenic Police, are going to implement information and awareness actions for students, teachers and parents, on the topic: “Dangers on the internet of the modern era and coping practices”. The aim of the above actions is to protect children and teenage girls and boys from infringing behaviors in the digital world, online seduction and monitoring, non-consensual sharing of personal moments and online sexual coercion and to educate them in the safe use of the internet.

These actions mark the start of the “Cycle of educational and informational actions for safe navigation on the internet and prevention of online sexual abuse/harassment and gender-based violence 2023-2025”, which will be carried out in all the Regional Units of Crete and are part of the “Regional Plan Action of Crete for Gender Equality 2023-2025”.

The following actions will take place in the Regional Units of Heraklion and Rethymno:

11/13/2023, 8:00am-2:00pm, 4th High School of Heraklion, for male and female students.

11/13/2023, 5:00-8:00 p.m., 12th High School of Heraklion, for parents and teachers.

14/11/2023, 8:00am-2:00pm, 3rd EPAL of Heraklion, for male and female students.

14/11/2023, 5:00-8:00 p.m., 3rd EPAL of Heraklion, for parents and teachers.

11/15/2023, 8:00am-2:00pm, Anogeion High School, for male and female students.

11/15/2023, 5:00-8:00pm, Municipality of Anogeia (Manolis Kefalogiannis Hall, under Piraeus Bank), for parents and teachers.

The above actions will be carried out with the support of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, the Consulting Center of Heraklion, the Research Center for Equality Issues (KETHI) of the General Secretariat for Equality and Human Rights, the Municipality of Anoggia, the Anoggia High School, the 4th High School of Heraklion, the 12th High School Heraklion, the 3rd EPAL of Heraklion and the Associations of Parents and Guardians of the above school units.
