Unbelievable traffic accident in the center of Athens – The car was a shapeless mass, the driver was rescued unharmed

Serious traffic accident in the early hours of the morning on Athenas Street, near Monastiraki and the Athens City Hall, where a car driver, under unknown circumstances so far, lost control, causing the vehicle he was driving to overturn.

The incredible incident which by pure luck did not have a worse outcome occurred at 05:30 in the morning. As can be seen in the images that see the light of day, the IX was turned into an amorphous mass of ironwork by the impact, while, among other things, even electricity poles were uprooted.

The intervention of the Fire Service was immediate, where they freed the driver from the car, who was not seriously injured. Athenas Street was closed for some time in order to clear the road.

According to relevant information, 6 firefighters with 2 vehicles were needed to extricate the driver before he was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
