Volkswagen: The most expensive Golf R was delivered to the first 20 owners

A special event was organized by Volkswagen, for the delivery of the Golf R 333 to the first owners, in the Autostadt multipurpose hall, next to the main factory of Volkswagen in Germany. More than twenty Golf R 333s were lined up there, which were met for the first time by their new owners, while Volkswagen arranged for a seminar by experts on the car’s special features.

Let us remind you that we are talking about the most expensive Golf, as its price on the German market, where it was exclusively available, reaches 76,410 euros! In comparison, let’s mention that the anniversary Golf R 20 Years Edition cost 59,995 euros. But for some, these prices are simple numbers and the Golf a myth of motoring.

So the Golf R 333 managed to sell out in just 8 minutes from its premiere! Its collectability may also have played a role, as Volkswagen had made it clear from the start that it would build only 333 copies.

We must also not forget that it is the most powerful Golf R, with the upgraded four-cylinder turbo two-liter TSI petrol engine producing 333 hp and 420 Nm of torque. Its performance chart lists acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h.

The special character of the Golf R 333 Limited Edition is visible at first glance, thanks to the new flashy metallic shade “Lime Yellow”. Contrast is formed by the black color on the roof, on the side mirrors and on the 19-inch rims. At the same time, its palette includes the shades “Pure White”, “Lapiz Blue Metallic” and “Deep Black Pearl Effect”.

Also notice the blue R logo on the front fenders, grille and brake calipers, the number 333 written low on the rear doors and Akrapovic’s titanium exhaust. R-Performance Torque Vectoring with Vehicle Dynamics Manager distributes the driving power not only between the front and rear axles, but also between the two rear wheels. Extra driving excitement comes from the Drift and Special programs, which have been developed around the legendary Nurburgring track.

The standard equipment of the new Golf R 333 Limited Edition includes front sports seats with integrated headrests and Nappa leather, IQ headlights. Light Led matrix, the Harman Kardon sound system with 9 speakers and a total power of 480 W, the central airbag and the reversing camera. The IQ.DRIVE package includes the driver assistance systems Travel Assist, Lane Assist, Emergency Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with stop&go function.
