Primary seismic control of building infrastructures of the Municipality of Patreon

The Municipality of Patreon implements a Primary Seismic Inspection program in all school buildings and buildings that house municipal services. The control is preventive and aims to establish the security level of the buildings and to plan the necessary interventions for their armoring and structural upgrading.

The project of the Pre-seismic control is financed by 60% from the Development Program for the Local Self-Government “ANTONIS TRITSIS” and by 40% from the Patreon Municipality’s own resources.

During an informational event that will take place on Monday, November 13 at 12 noon, at the Cultural Center of the Old Slaughterhouses (Akti Dymaion 84), the purpose of the Primary Pre-Seasonal Inspection, the procedure and the schedule that will be followed will be presented.

All the Directors of the school units of the Municipality of Patreon and the involved Agencies have been invited to the event through the Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education of the prefecture of Achaia.

The method that will be applied to carry out the primary seismic inspection concerns the statistical processing of the data collected by the OASP (Organization for Earthquake Planning and Protection) Rapid Visual Inspection process and consists in completing the Buildings Preliminary Inspection Bulletin (5th edition). The reports aim at the qualitative grading of the structural system and the classification of the building in a specific category of seismic risk.

The results of the pre-seismic inspection will be used by the Municipality and the OASP to assess the safety level of the buildings and to plan the necessary interventions to shield the building infrastructure.
