“The arrested Arab-Israeli fighters should be released immediately. Solidarity to the peoples of Palestine and Israel”emphasizes it Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the KKE.
Here is the statement he issued about the arrests:
“The Communist Party of Greece unequivocally condemns the arrests of the Arab-Israeli activists, on Thursday 9/11, while they were heading for a peaceful protest in the city of Nazareth, Israel, against Israel’s military invasion of the Gaza Strip. They are Mohammad Barakeh, an official of the CC Israel, former member of parliament and president of the Supreme Committee for Monitoring the Issues of the Arab Citizens of Israel, as well as Sami Abu Shehande, Mahmoud Mawassi, Hanin Zoabi and Youssef Tatour.
This despicable action by the Israeli authorities comes after the orders issued by the Israeli Police to ban all demonstrations demanding an end to the war in Gaza and the occupation, orders which were upheld by Israel’s Supreme Court yesterday (November 8). . Expresses the escalation of brutal state repression against activists of the Israeli people and the Palestinian minority, which includes the criminal prosecution of citizens who express their solidarity with Gaza, prosecution of those who declare their Palestinian origin on social media, and summary proceedings in police operational regulations that now provide for the shooting of live fire against unarmed civilians and demonstrations.
The KKE expresses its solidarity with the KK Israel and all the fighters of the Israeli people, who despite the barbaric repression continue their struggle against the occupation of the Palestinian territories by Israel, condemn and oppose the genocide carried out by the murderous state of Israel in the Gaza Strip.
The KKE will further intensify its action in favor of the Palestinian people and their just struggle to live in their own homeland, their own independent and viable Palestinian state on the borders of 1967 and with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
